My Three Babies!!!
Love this picture of Seth

Seth really tried to play with the water table and hug Emmy at the same time.
She only allowed that for about 45 seconds. ha!

Wow, it has been almost two months since my last post. All I can say is....busy and sorry. So much has happened and life is sliding by so fast. I have barely had time for anything, let alone my blog. I apologize!

August was a busy busy month. First, my good friend, Mike's mother passed away after a long battle with Kidney Cancer. She was only 59 and left behind Mike, his dad, and his 2 siblings and a cutie grandson. I cannot imagine losing a parent, let alone one so young.

We have also been in the quote finding phase for replacing our floors! YEA FINALLY! Yes, these are the same kitchen floors we sought to replace last Spring. Yes, 18 months ago. But as with most of the Guarnizo projects, things domino and next thing we knew...we had new granite countertops and new appliances and a new backsplash and poof! There went our money. So we saved up again...Viola...18 months later and time for new floors. And of course, projects domino and now we are replacing the floor in our kitchen, dining room, and den. I cannot wait to see the difference. Yes, I will post before and after pics.

And when it rains, it pours. Our AC repairman found a few minor leaks in our attic roof. We knew it would happen sooner than later. Our roof is 20 years old. Luckily, we had planned for that roof to go 2 years ago and have saved up for it. But why is it that getting a new roof DOES NOT excite me in the least. Floors and countertops can turn me on, but shingles and a roof...really?! Oh well, fun times as a homeowner.

Now the interesting part - Jury Duty. The old-fashioned civic duty that most people try to slide their way out of. Actually, I thought I would do the same...being a cop's wife and all. This was the first time I have ever been called. I brought a book and checked into the courthouse to see 800 of my lovely neighbors...who knew that people crawled right out from under a rock to serve on a jury. Do people look in a mirror before leaving the house? Do you care to brush your hair? Or even your teeth? Good Lord! Anyway, the panel questioning begin and it took a total of 20 minutes before they home in on my husband's detective job and begin to grill me as though I was on trial. I half enjoyed it because I figured I would be released and on my merry way. NOPE! Next thing I know, I'm on the jury for an armed robbery and aggrevated assault case. I will say that it was interesting and I rather enjoyed the process. On the other hand, glad it only lasted two days and glad I served with normal people!

This past weekend was a blur of cookouts and parties...not a bad way to spend a long holiday weekend but tiring! I will stop blabbing now and get to the pictures!
